Resurrecting the Voice of the Mummy 2017
After pricing out the LEGO parts I needed to do the LEGO version decided I would go back to trying to win an eBay auction. I did finally win an eBay auction for a Voice of the Mummy Game or should I say parts. I got a non-working sarcophagus, the record, the game board, the box, and the original instructions. I knew what I was bidding on and at this point I knew I would never get a complete game for what I wanted to pay for it and it was still way cheaper than building the LEGO version. I do have a 3D Printer and had already done a lot of designs for Richard's sarcophagus and I needed to work on my 3D modeling skills anyway. So the adventure continued.

I needed to come up with the missing pieces required to play the game and not wanting to have to start from scratch I found some basic models on Thingiverse and modified them to fit my needs. I will post the links to the original models at the bottom of the last page if you want to do the same or if you want to see other models by these talented folks.

The Game Tokens
I found some male and female tokens on Thingiverse. I scaled them and added a thicker base, a Pith Helmet, a Backpack, a Shovel, a Pick, a Canteen, and a Magnifying Glass.
The Temples
The Temples are where you store the "Precious Jewels" that you gather as you clime the pyramid. I found a set of Canopic Jars with toppers that would fit the bill nicely. I removed the Uraeus from each of the toppers and put a hole that the games Uraeus would fit in. I added a Flat side to the Jars so I could add stickers with the original hieroglyphs from the temples.
The Precious Jewels
This one was a design from scratch project. I printed them from translucent PETG Filament. Despite what the close up picture looks like, they are smooth and the layer lines actually make them look sparkly in the light.
The Uraeus and the Great Jewel
“The Spell” is the uraeus from the sarcophagus. The way this is used in the game reminded me of Jafar’s staff from Disney’s Aladdin. So I went looking for a cobra head with a certain look. I found an Iron Cobra model and cut its head off. Scaled it to fit and added a staff. The translucent PETG Filament didn’t transmit light as well as the example of the original acrylic game pieces from Richard’s website so I hollowed out the model and put a piece of fiber optic tube down the inside. I made the model thinner at the eyes so they would glow brighter than the rest of the model.
This needs to be seen to appreciate the details.

The Great Jewel was another from scratch model and has a magnet inset in it so will activate the game phase change.
